Convert Dollars to Pesos on PayPal

My PayPal balance is in US dollars. Because of the latest update, we should first convert our funds to the Philippine peso before we can transfer our PayPal balance to GCash. Here are five easy steps on how to convert foreign currency to our local currency on PayPal using your phone.

Step 1

Using your browser, go to paypal.com and login to your account.

Step 2

The amount on the bigger font is just your balance in your preferred currency and have not necessarily been converted. You can check how much you have in peso or in dollar on the PHP/USD section. Then click "More."

Step 3

Find the three dots next to your dollar balance and then click "Convert Currency."

Enter the amount you want to convert. Note that PayPal charges a conversion fee of 2.5% which makes the conversion slightly lower than the current exchange rate. You can then proceed to tap "Next."

Step 5

Check the amount and the currency you want to convert one more time and then tap the "Convert" button.

Conversion Complete!

You have now successfully converted your dollar balance to philippine peso. You can now start to transfer money from PayPal to your GCash App.

Transfer PayPal Funds to Your GCash Balance

After you have successfully converted your funds to philippine peso, you are now ready to transfer them to your GCash balance. Let me show how easy it is in five easy steps.

Step 1

Open the GCash App and enter your MPIN to log in to your account.

Step 2

Tap "Cash In" from the services menu or tap the "+" sign next to your GCash balance.

Step 3

Tap the "Remittance" Category and select "PayPal" under Payment Partners. If you have not yet authorized your GCash account to cash in using PayPal, you can do so by providing the email address you use for PayPal. It will then be lead you to the PayPal website where you will log in. You will then be asked to authorize your GCash account to be linked to your PayPal account. Click "Authorize" to submit.

Step 4

After authorization, you can now enter the amount you want to transfer from PayPal to GCash. You can also see how much balance you have on your PayPal account. Note that you can transfer a minimum of 500 pesos.

Step 5

Tap "Confirm" to finalize the transfer.

Transfer Complete!

You did it! You can now wait for a few minutes, in some cases, up to 24 hours for the money to reflect on your balance. You will receive a text notification and an email from PayPal as soon as the transfer has been successfully processed. You can now use your GCash Mastercard to withdraw your funds from PayPal or you can use it for other services including bill payments, online shopping and many more using the GCash app.
